ABOUT TELLINGTON TTOUCH
THE TTOUCH THAT TEACHES
TTouch is a very gentle approach to helping animals get back into balance physically, emotionally and mentally.
Linda Tellington-Jones developed this remarkable modality some 25 years ago. Linda started doing this work with horses but has adapted her techniques to work with any species.
TTouch is a series of gentle circular movements on the surface of the skin. Although some may refer to it as massage, it really isn't. TTouch works on a cellular level dealing with the nervous system. This neural and cellular activity promotes optimal health and behavior. It helps animals past instinct so they think and act as opposed to simply reacting. It helps the body find new neural pathways to promote healing and to teach the body it can do non habitual movements.
This work is so important and very useful in so many ways. For example it can speed up recovery time for an animal who has just gone through surgery, or it can stop an animal from going into shock if its just been in an accident, it can help a dog learn to be/stay in balance so it isn't pulling on the lead or lunging at other dogs or teach a dog to accept getting its nails trimmed. The list goes on and on in the ways TTouch can make our lives and our pets lives happier and healthier! This is done in a very gentle manor without force or dominance.
Another technique used in TTouch is the confidence course or the playground for higher learning. This consists of an assortment of different obstacles to work dogs through. This too helps a dog experience better balance and self-control. Everything is done slow and steady, which enables it to think and not react.
